OKI was one of the first MPOs to receive a GPS-only household travel survey. This was in the early stages of GPS surveys and much research has been performed since that survey was undertaken.

OKI is using their GPS survey dataset and prompted recall dataset to test the methods outlined in NCHRP Report 775 and report on the improvements in processing algorithms as well as issues in the processing algorithms that should be addressed with additional research. OKI expects at the end of this project to have three or more trip tables to compare, the prompted recall table, the initial processing completed when the survey was undertaken, and a new trip table (or possibly more than one table) based on the methodologies outlined in NCHRP 775. This would allow for comparisons of trip productions, trip length frequencies, and mode choices.
