Located in downtown Raleigh, the Conference Hotel is a leisurely walk from museums, restaurants, night-life and the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. The 100% smoke-free hotel features a polished, contemporary flair throughout all guest areas. Guests can connect with colleagues in the hotel’s restaurant and lounge, meeting spaces and computer workstations located in the hotel lobby. A special room block has been created for TRB Transportation Planning Applications Conference attendees with room rates of $139/night plus tax. This block is held until April 13, 2017 so conference attendees are encouraged to make their reservations early to ensure access to this special rate.

Please follow this link to the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel website to make your hotel arrangements, Or call 1-800-325-3535 and reference '16th TRB Transportation Planning Application 2017 Conference' as the group code.

All hotel arrangements are the sole responsibility of the attendee and are not included in the conference registration. In addition, hotel cancellation policies are as shown on the Sheraton Raleigh website and in the hotel reservation confirmation sent to the registrant after securing hotel arrangements. Any hotel modification or cancellations are the responsibility of the attendee.

Public Sector and Student Attendee Fellowship Opportunities

As in previous years, the 16th TRB National Transportation Planning Applications Conference is offering a limited number of registration and travel fellowships for qualifying public sector and student conference attendees. This is part of an outreach effort to facilitate attendance by individuals who would otherwise not be able to participate in the conference. Assistance is limited and will likely be restricted to one award per agency, depending on the volume of requests received. Speakers and moderators will receive highest preference for assistance and student candidates must be enrolled in transportation planning related programs. Interested public agency staff and qualifying students should submit a request for consideration by completing this form and submitting to Fellowship Coordinator, Christopher Hiebert by no later than March 27, 2017. Award winners will be notified on or before April 3, 2017 in order to allow for early bird registration and hotel room block access; both of which close on April 13, 2017.

Fellowship recipients will be reimbursed for the conference early bird registration rate ($395) and hotel/travel expenses up to a maximum of $605. Individuals are responsible for making and paying for their own conference registration, hotel reservations and travel arrangements. The fellowship will be provided as a reimbursement to recipients after the conference. Reimbursement requests must include proof of registration, hotel and travel receipts. Additional forms will be required for reimbursement in order for the conference local host agency (NCSU-ITRE) to process the request after the conference. Please note a W-9 form for each fellowship recipient will be required. Fellowship recipients will receive additional information on the submission of these forms in the email award notification.
